Amazon’s Latest Toolkit Quickly Creates VR Apps
Amazon has launched a toolkit, which can quickly create 3D scenes, animated characters by artificial intelligence, and can also script interactions.
Amazon announced on November 27, 2017, the development of new toolkit, which could help users to quickly create VR apps. It has unveiled a developer service, Sumerian, that helps to easily create AR and VR apps, and moreover, general 3D apps. However, amazon is not the first company to have augmented or virtual reality, but it resolute to change mind. Sumerian service allows users to drag-and-drop objects to quickly create 3D scenes, make animated characters driven by artificial intelligence, and can also script interactions between the user and the other objects created.
The apps can also be packaged on multiple big platforms. The code created by Sumerian service is capable to run on any web browser that can handle WebGL or WebVR, however, it will function perfectly with Google Daydream, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and iOS devices. Moreover, a support is expected to launch soon for Android’s ARCore.
The toolkit is not capable enough to satisfy the demands of developers who have exacting needs such as a game studios. However, the amazon toolkit is able to provide easy programming surface for companies, which creates AR and VR app, and doesn’t have the expertise and resources of a proficient software developer. The toolkit can help to whip up a training space or a VR shopping helper, without having to worry about the programming code. It helps Amazon’s bottom line by driving people to AWS, however, it could also lead to seeing AR and VR in more places.
