Apple Planning to Launch Crumb-Resistant MacBook Keyboard
Apple is planning to launch a crumb-resistant MacBook keyboard, according to a report published in Gadgets Now on March 9, 2018.
Apart from mainstream products, Apple has focus on its accessories as well. The recent patent filing on the new crumb-resistant Mac keyboard is an indication that they are increasing the focus on its accessories. This patent, which reveals solution to the problem of dust and crumbs on MacBook keys, was made public recently.
The abstract from the patent says that mechanisms that prevent contaminant ingress are included in the keyboards. In few embodiments, a keyboard includes a substrate, key cap, a movement mechanism and a guard structure. Other few embodiments include a base, a web, keys movably coupled to the base within the apertures and a gasket.
This technology may or may not be brought into Apple’s Mac keyboards, as it is a patent. However, work for this has been started by the Cupertino-based tech firm. Apple has also planned to launch a cheaper MacBook Air in Q2 2018. Apple’s MacBook shipments is expected to increase by 10-15 percent with the launch of the cheaper MacBook Air.
Once the new version arrives in the market, the price of the current 13-inch Apple MacBook Air laptop in the market will reduce. The price of current 13-inch model is Rs 77, 200 MRP in India. 13.3-inch LED backlit screen, 1.8GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 128GB or 256GB storage and up to 12 hours of battery are some of the key features of this device. This new technology can be associated to the audio streaming market, as elaborated in the audio streaming market report published by Coherent Market Insights.
