Apple Purchased Buddybuild to Make Apps Much Easier
Apple purchased a small Canada-based company— Buddybuild—which develops software for engineers and app developers on January 2, 2017
Several flagship phones such as Apple have gained popularity over the recent past due to increasing adoption of high speed internet connectivity, as per flagship smartphones market report published by Coherent Market Insights. Smartphone brands are thus adopting advanced software for their smartphones, leading mergers or acquisitions with several software developing companies.
Apple confirmed that it acquired Buddybuild, a software developing company, to help create an iPhone application for its customers.
“We’re excited to share that the buddybuild team has joined the Xcode engineering group at Apple to build amazing developer tools for the entire iOS community,” Buddybuild announced.
“As of today, we are no longer accepting new customers. Existing Free Starter plans and Android app development will be discontinued on March 1, 2018,” it added. It also reported that the service would remain operational for iOS apps, alone.
The deal was first reported by TechCrunch, which was not sure about the price the deal was closed on, however, confirmed the purchase had been confirmed by Apple.
Apple relies on Xcode for making software for iPhones and Macs. It is extremely important for every single iPhone app to be built in Xcode, as Apple strives hard to keep its app developers happy.
Buddybuild developed the only ‘mobile continuous integration and delivery platform’. For non-engineers. This makes its tools easier for teams of coders to work on big projects.
