Google Assistant to Soon Match Voices to Specific Netflix Profile
Google has announced that it is expanding the Voice Match feature on Google Assistant to support separate Netflix profiles, on January 23, 2018.
Google is now making it possible to attach individual Netflix profiles on a user’s account to the various Google profiles they have set up on a Google Assistant device such as Google Home. Just as Assistant offers personalized information through Voice Match for bringing up calendars or commute times, it is soon expecting to, at least in theory, do the same for Netflix users. When users ask Google Home to play Netflix on their Chromecast, it will pick up where they left off. This means that, say for instance a user was somewhere in the middle of their Friends marathon, and not watching Altered Carbon, which was being binge watched by their sibling.
The setting up of this new feature is expected to be pretty easy, says Google. To set it up one will simply be required to log into the Google Home app and dive into the ‘More Settings’ option in the menu, further heading to Videos and Photos. At this sub-menu, users will be able to find a new ‘Manage Profile’ option. This option will allow them to link which Netflix profile is attached to their Google Assistant account.
