Google’s Clips Camera May Bring AI into Home Gadgets
On February 27, 2018, Google launched a new camera named as Clips. This has confirmed Google’s entry into home gadgets by the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Alphabet Inc.’s Google has confirmed that this combination is expected to prove irresistible with the introduction of Google Clips, a compatible digital camera that decides for itself whether an image is sufficiently interesting to shoot.
The device that costs U.S. $249, which is produced to clutch onto furniture or other immovable objects, automatically captures objects that are in the range of its viewfinder. Google has trained its electronic brain to identify smiles, human faces, dogs, cats and fast paced sequences of movement. The Clip shoots seven-second videos, without audio, that could be edited into GIFs or high-definition photos. These images can later be downloaded and shared via smartphone. Google says Clips, which was announced in October, is the outgrowth of years of research into what people like about their favorite images.
Consumers overwhelmingly preferred candid shots as opposed to ubiquitous selfies and other posed photos. However, casual photographers often cannot whip out their phones in time to catch the action. And many subjects become self-conscious when they know a camera is pointed their way.
The new technology with Artificial Intelligence is expected to raise demands for more such devices in the market. The scope and opportunities for the same are mentioned in Artificial Intelligence Market report published by Coherent Market Insights.
