Gurit and Armacell Join Forces to Further Green PET Technology
Gurit, a well-known developer and innovator in the composites industry, signed a contract with the Armacell Group, a leader in flexible insulation foam, on July 6, 2017. This contract will grant Gurit a global license in flexible foam for the patented ArmaForm PET GR Technology via Armacell License Services S.C.S., Luxembourg.
Using the ArmaForm PET GR technology, PET can be manufactured using 100% recyclable products. The PET is also fully recyclable.
Another striking feature of the manufactured PET is it can be easily shaped thermally and is compatible with all resins and manufacturing methods. This ArmaForm PET GR technology is well known on the global front and caters to customers across various industries. This PET can be employed in wide range of applications in the wind, building & construction, transportation, and general industries. All these features make the deal more enticing for Gurit.
“The combination of the PET capacity and technology that we have acquired in Volpiano, Italy, at the end of 2016 paired with Gurit`s existing production and the new licensing contract for the Armacell foam technology represents a major step forward in our offering to our global customer base,” said Rudolf Hadorn, CEO of Gurit.
“As the inventors of the ArmaFORM PET GR technology, we have been able to provide a unique product range to customers across the globe. We are happy to see Gurit utilize our technology thereby increasing Armacell’s contribution to a greener tomorrow” remarked Bart Janssen, Vice President Engineered Foams of Armacell.
