U.S Lawmakers Fail to End Obamacare – Donald Trump Instructs Republican Senators to Focus on Passing the Healthcare Bill

U.S Lawmakers Fail to End Obamacare

On July 31, 2017, President Donald Trump, including some associates of his administration motivated Republican senators to try their level best and pass a healthcare bill. The lawmakers experienced a spectacular failure last week as they were unable to gather enough votes to put an end to Obamacare. A day after the failure to muster sufficient votes, the Republican president expressed his impatience by tweeting about the inability of Congress personnel to effectively deliver on his party’s 7 years long assurance to change the Affordable Care Act- which is a healthcare bill introduced by former President Barack Obama. The healthcare bill is generally known as Obamacare. Some members belonging to Trump’s administration reacted and tried to compel policy makers to take a firm action.

However, it has been unclear whether admonishments from the White House is capable of having any strong influence on Capitol Hill, where democrats controlling both houses signaled a week ago about the issue that it was high time to focus on other issues. The enthusiasm of Republicans to replace and repeal Obamacare was met with intra-party divisions from both the sides between conservatives and moderates and also the boost in the law approval that enhanced they count of insured American citizens by twenty million.

Voting specifies that a majority of American citizen are agreeing to move on from healthcare currently. As per the poll released on July 29, 2017 out of 1,136 people, sixty four percent people that were surveyed on July 28 and 29, said they wish to go with Obamacare, either the way it is or after fixing the areas having issues. With the legislative branch in the United States preparing for the change, the executive branch promised to focus on rewriting the regulations related to Obamacare.
