YouTube TV Partners with Sinclair Stations – Spreads to Fourteen New Markets
Alphabet Inc’s Google has successfully expanded its popular YouTube TV streaming facility into fourteen new markets in the United States and has reached roughly half of the American households. According to the statement given by the company on Thursday, August 17, 2017, additional seventeen markets will be launched in few weeks from now. YouTube has decided to broaden its access to live television streaming as an increasing number of young viewers and internet users prefer to watch shows over the internet. In addition, traditional broadcast networks deal with aged population amongst television viewers.
Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc- a renowned TV station operator in the United States mentioned in a statement given on Thursday that it has a contract signed with YouTube TV to broadcast its NBC, FOX, CBS, and ABC affiliates in nine out of all the fourteen new markets. Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc also has its stations in eleven out of all the seventeen markets that YouTube TV is going to launch in the weeks to come. The new market will comprise of San Antonio, Cincinnati, and Boston, while Indianapolis and Austin will be amongst the ones that will be introduced in a few weeks from now, YouTube confirmed in a statement on Thursday.
YouTube also declared in a statement that it is now leading all its live television streaming competitors and rivals when it comes to managing the highest number of broadcast stations in the marketplaces where YouTube TV is conveniently available. Dish Network Corp, a streaming service provider that offers streaming service like Sling TV, merely offers local TV channels when people opt for Sling Blue subscription. YouTube TV ranks above Sling TVs basic subscription level.
YouTube refused to comment when asked to reveal the collective number of people who have subscribed for its streaming services. In addition, YouTube has also decided to add a Tennis Channel and a short and quick news video site called Newsy to its lineup without charging anything extra from its subscribers.
