Coravin Opener Pours Glass without Uncorking Wine Bottle
Coravin introduced device can help in pouring wine without opening the bottle ensuring the wine stays fresh without oxidizing
Coravin introduced wine preservation opener called the Model Eleven, which can replace the displaced liquid with argon gas maintaining the quality of wine for longer time. The device works by piercing the cork in the wine bottle with a hollow needle. As the wine flows out of the needle and into glass, the Coravin pumps argon into the bottle to displace the wine and keep the flow going. User has to pull needle once pouring is done.
Compression from the neck of the wine bottle forces the cork to form an airtight seal when the Coravin needle is removed. Argon is a tasteless and odorless gas and it does not affect flavor of wine. It minimizes the risk of glass breakage and the company recommends to hold the bottle in a soft pouch to protect hands. The device’s capsule load system is designed to make changing out argon gas capsules quick and easy, and the gas in Coravin’s containers is composed of 99.99 percent pure argon gas to protect the remaining wine from oxidation.
The device is Bluetooth-enabled and automated with color LED display and intuitive icons. The user gets notified when device needs to be charged, and clean or refill the argon gas capsules. The Model Eleven connects to Coravin Moments, a wine experience app that allows users to curate unique wine experiences incorporating food, film, music, moods, and occasions. The device is priced at US$ 1,000. Capsule refills are also available from Coravin in sets of three, six, and 24 depending on requirement of user.
