EPIC uses the Opticon Scanner system combining it with McKession Medical Surgical digital supply management platform that allows the company to order and replenish their supplies in a completely automated manner. The barcode system and the scanner are interfaced directly with a virtual requisition software platform. Earlier, the clinicians and nurses had to do a lot of paperwork to place orders and to restock all medical supplies in their storeroom. This is also helping the organization to document all sorts of medical and non-medical products in a computerized system for enhanced storage and data backup.
