Machine Leaning Assist Self-Heating Jackets to Regulate Body Temperature
Mercury jacket revealed by Boston Apparel Company Ministry of Supply can regulate body temperature according to the requirement of user
Mercury jacket is made from a mix of polyester and polyurethane material. It is waterproof, windproof, and odor resistant. The company suggests that the jacket can be used on daily basis. It has carbon fiber heating elements inside and it has weight of 100 g. The jacket is charged through USB and it uses 10,000-mAh battery. The mercury inside the jacket heats up when it is put on.
The jacket can be synchronized and controlled with smartphone app and Amazon Alexa. User can order to pre-heat the jacket before stepping out. Furthermore, it features Qi wireless charger, which is placed into one of the pockets. When smartphone is kept inside the pocket, it draws battery from jacket to support wireless charging. The system is programmed to respond wearer’s temperature and motion using a built in accelerometer and body heat sensor.
The Mercury jacket uses machine learning to adjust itself with user’s preferences. It gets better with feedback from user making automatic adjustments to maintain the optimum temperature inside up to 57° C.
Furthermore, it also has features such as heated hand warmer pockets, a hood, and color variants such as jet black and navy color. These jackets are washable with battery removed. Currently Ministry of Supply is expected to rise US$ 72,000 for the production of the Mercury jacket. The company will be shipping jackets from November 2018.
