Nissan Loses the Hearts and Mind of Consumers
Families across the county waited with baited breath for the unveiling of the new 2019 Altima, first shown to the public this summer at the International Car Show in NYC.
With much fanfare, the public display of the newest version of the usually stalwart Nissan Altima took place to gasps of disappointment from attendees and members of the Press alike.
As we examined the 2019 Altima with the new-slash-old Maxima style body, one has to ponder why Nissan – a company that has always delivered high-quality worksmanship – would even dare to release the 2019 Altima with its poor design and just total lameness glaring at you from every angle.
With a redesigned front that is all grill, Nissan’s engineers and designers apparently forgot that most states have front license plates now, which will ruin the slick front-end look that Nissan was hoping to achieve.
The inside is no prize either, with a terrible design that throws off the usually balanced interior design. Cheap accessories such as plastic knobs for the radio and a ridiculous screen that you can’t even navigate make the interior look like a piss-yellow 1976 Pacer.
Let’s face it – the 2019 Nissan Altima has struck out. Looking into how Nissan North America has taken such a fast tumble, one only has to look at the problems the dealerships face from the public’s backlash.
The misstep from Nissan has now turned into large-scale poor customer service, outrageously “rude tudes” from bombastic yet desperate sales personnel, and a ranch full of overpaid managers who should be in the unemployment line.
Buying a car as expensive as the Nissan Altima should never be a smoke-and-mirrors deal . Several Nissan dealers throughout the country have really worked hard at being the No. 1 unpleasant and flawed dealership.
It is a close three-way tie between Nissan dealerships vying for the title of most arrogant, most mis-informed, and worst management in the country. Counting backwards, 3rd place has to go to Mastria Nissan in Raynham, MA, led by Chris Wong playing general Sales Manager. A poor excuse for a “leader,” possessing a horrible disposition, Wong should be “Gonged” for the way he handles customers.
A well-deserved 2nd Place goes to Don Davis Nissan. The dealership receptionist had a hard time being coherent while attempting to transfer a call to a salesperson. And if you finally were connected, you got hung up on. That lame-jenny of a dealership is still working on pronounceable names for their employees.
But the No. 1 dealership for disgusting attitudes goes to Steven Nissan in Harrisonburg, VA., on East Market St., led by inept General Manager Michael Cavicante. Congratulations to your dealership Mike. Steven Nissan also takes 1st Place for arrogance of the whole dealership , and for totally misunderstanding how car sales are done and how customers should be treated.
Steven Nissan stands behind and doubles down on being bodacious. Before you buy a car with cash or by check, you must fill out a credit application. Of course, they could care less that credit inquiries lowers your credit rating.
The dealership WILL NOT give you an actual price on a car without a credit application being filled out first we were told . With Nissan USA setting such a poor example in quality and integrity, it’s no wonder their dealerships are running amok.
Although our opinions are strong, our predictions generally hit the bulls-eye, and we predict car sales will tumble for Nissan at these lame dealerships. I would look for huge sales on Nissans by summer of 2019. Congratulations to all three dealerships … and to Nissan Corporate we say – it’s time for some major car washing- and redesigns for 2020.
