This bacteriophages were found to be more specific for treatment of bacterial infections in pigs. MSD Animal Health (known as Merck Animal Health in the U.S. and Canada) in November 2017, signed an agreement to acquire Vilsan Pharmaceuticals which is a division of Vimar Group, based in Turkey. Vilsan Pharmaceuticals holds significant share in animal health products in Turkey.
